Cala Llenya
Possibly our most visited beach since our daughter was born, based on the fact it has really good parking, is very long (you’ll always find a good spot), is shallow quite a long way in and the sand is so fine and soft. This is the ideal beach for families, with a wheelchair access ramp that runs all the way down to the Chiringuito bar. There’s even a volleyball net set up in the shade of the pine trees for public use. The beach is surrounded on either side by rocky hills and pine trees, which ensures that it’s never too windy. Frequented mainly by locals, it’s a little hidden gem.
While there is a small Chringuito bar on the beach, perfect for snacks, cold drinks and ice cream (ah, holiday!) if you’re looking for something more substantial we’d suggest hopping back in your car and driving to San Carlos. It’s super close to Cala Llenya and has the best pizzeria on the island (that’s right, we said BEST.) Renowned for the owners secret dough recipe, don’t miss your chance to try out Enfarinarte Pizzeria.

Santa Eulalia
We couldn’t do a list of beaches without including our hometown of Santa Eulalia, could we? Of course we’re slightly biased because we live here but this beautiful white sandy beach is surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the town, you’ve got frozen yoghurt shops, traditional gelaterias, tapas, steak, Italian cuisine, Mexican food, not to mention a host of bars perfect for whiling away the afternoon. The water is crystal clear (great for spotting fish,) you can even see Formentera across the sea and watch as the boats come and go from the busy marina.
Having lived in this glorious little town for a while now, it’s safe to say there’s not been a stone left unturned when it comes to culinary delights. Our favourite spot for a special occasion is Chiringuito Blue. Located further along the paseo towards the little town of Siesta, this fresh fish restaurant won’t disappoint. And neither will their wine menu! If you’re just looking to grab a quick easy lunch, however then we’d suggest San Martino, right on the Santa Eulalia beach front. Their expertly cooked Italian cuisine is to die for.

S’Estanyol
Located near to the little village of Jesus, this little cove shaped beach is surrounded by wild nature, a perfect little undisturbed getaway for some peace and quiet. Ideal spot for snorkelling, with plenty of fish and even some little caves to see. The water edge is a little rocky and we’d recommend using the pier to get in and out of the water, making it more ideal for couples or groups of friends rather than families. You will often spot nude sunbathers here due to the privacy of the beach. It’s rural Ibiza at its finest.
Cala Bonita is the little restaurant located on the beach, playing modern Balearic music and serving a delicious Mediterranean menu, we’d recommend just staying put and filling up on their fantastic food and drinks.
